List of ingredients that you can add to your cart by selecting and then choosing "Add Selected to Cart". Select product: Creamy White Decorator Frosting, 4 lb. Cut a one inch layer, followed by a 1cm 0. Place your bottom layer onto a round cake board and smother it generously in vanilla buttercream. Then sprinkle that with chocolate chips and oreos. Add the next 1 inch 2. Add your top piece of cake. Cover the whole thing in buttercream smoothing it out as much as you can. Take a piece of acetate and run it up and around the cake to smooth out all those lines.

Roll out some white fondant fairly thinly and then place it over the soccer ball. Lift and lower the fondant to remove the folds. Once it is smooth and you can see where your cake board is, use a knife to trim around just under the board. Roll out some more white fondant and cut out hexagons. Using a little water to make it stick, add one of your black pieces into place. Then surround that with white like you are making a flower.

Cut a black bit in half and add it into the gaps at the bottom. Just let it hang over the base board and then trim it to size once it is on. Continue to add the rest of the pieces onto the ball in the same way. Using a skewer drag down along the join so that it looks like the soccer ball is stitched together.

Add some green liquid food coloring to your coconut and stir it through to make grass. On your cake board add a dab of melted chocolate and then an upside down lazy susan. Hide the top of the lazy susan by smothering the top now the base because it is upside down in melted chocolate and then sprinkling it with the green coconut.

Add the ball into place, making sure it is in the centre. I used a little blu tac under the cake board to secure it. Then you can give it a spin. All rights reserved. How To Cook That. I have been busy over the last year planning, writing and overseeing the photography and layout for my first ever cookbook! There are heaps of my favourite dessert recipes in there with a chapter on pastries, ice-cream, yummy cakes, artistic desserts and of course chocolate desserts.

Each chapter has its own intro explaining the food science that you'll need to know for success every time. I am super proud of myself and tastes amazing chocolate recipe with cherry conserve filling and chocolate butter icing for crumb coat.

Just to note I cooked this at c electric oven with the fan off for around 1hr 30 mins!!! First try fan was on and it burnt the outside but took forever to cook the inside. I used recipe plus half to fill the 2x 8 in bowls I should have doubled the recipe but it worked out quite well in the end. Hello, hope you are well! I am making the soccer ball cake as per directions but my batter wasnt as liquid and I only had enough batter to fit the pan not fill up till the top.

The pan comes with the pattern in the directions. I scanned it into my computer, printed it out on card stock and "laminated" it with clear contact paper. I then use it as a template to cut out my fondant. If you're not using fondant I'll attach my file if you need a copy. I also attached a picture to show how it turned out.

I've done several of these. You do need a template like the one above. There are two types of blocks on soccer balls. If you are using buttercream, here is how I did it. I made the templates exactly as alanahodgson mentioned above.

I crumbcoated the cake and using a toothpick, traced the pattern into the crumbcoat of buttercream. I then used a star tip to fill in.

Hope this helps. I also did this cake in buttercream. I used the same template as above that came with the sports ball pan. I crumb coated, then transfered the pattern using parchment paper and piping gel colored black. I filled in with the star tip. I was about to attach a link but I just remebered that I never uploaded it. I just did so if you'd like to see it it should be in my photo gallery. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
