Garmin nuvi 200w update hack

Upload waypoints to your GPS and print a matching map out to take with you into the field. Once you reach that limit, your GPS can't hold any more data. They can then download as much data as possible onto their GPS leaving some room for GPS data collection out in the field. When they get back, they use ExpertGPS to upload all of their Garmin waypoints onto their computer and save it. Once they've backed up the new data from their GPS, they can clear the memory again, keeping their GPS ready for their next trip.

These are actual scale topographic maps from the US Geological Survey, giving you much more terrain detail than the maps that came with your Garmin.

This ability to toggle back-and-forth between several views of your GPS data is unique to ExpertGPS, and is one of its most popular features. ExpertGPS comes preloaded with all the line patterns and cartographic styles you need to draw highways, railroad tracks, transmission lines, streams, and more.

And the waypoint and track style editors let you create your own map symbols, change track colors, and customize exactly how your GPS and map data is drawn.

ExpertGPS can do it 5x faster! May be jumping the gun here, but haven't found any sort of file or folder in the unit for voices. Really haven't had the time to play with it while in the car, but a search at home found nothing. What am I missing? It only has basic voice prompts, not text to speech - and the non-tts voice selection is limited. Guess thats where my problem is. I can't even find anything on it for ANY type of voice. It does have a voice for the prompts, but thats it.

The OS is proprietary to Garmin, so none of the usual ideas will get you anything. Go to the poi-factory. I posted the url for a website that I ran across that deals with Nuvi tips and tricks. I didn't save it because I don't have a Nuvi. I wished that it was a feature that could be turned on, even if it came out of the box, turned off. There needs to be a way to backtrack if your a little bit lost. You can have or 1, waypoints in the Nuvi not sure on that one but just tap the vehicle icon once you start bushwacking when you start out and every 15 mins or so and the nuvi will number the points easy track back goto the waypoints in reverse order.

Always carry a compass and be aware of your bearing to return just in case. Some nuvis if you press and hold I think it is the speedometer? You can post now and register later. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account.
